Welcome to the hotel-theater! In our film series Check-in! – Hotels in Movies we enter long corridors, strange rooms and lobbies full of possibilities. Whether luxury hotel or shabby motel – hotels are places of refuge, solitude or encounters.
Ever since Edmund Goulding!s classic “People in a Hotel” (1932), the hotel has been a fascinating setting for cinema. We show films in which hotels are more than just a backdrop. These films tell of relationship dramas and murder plots, new beginnings, isolation and melancholy, desires and longings – with lost souls, strong characters, iconic images and great emotions!
